hellow..
i wondered if the speed of the cpu makes big difference in game performance..(not like 1Ghz vs 3Ghz)
i have e4400 no oc 2Ghz X2
i run my Call of Duty 4 on it with graphics card radeon hd 2600pro little oc 256mb
there was no lag at all
i also have a 2gb ddr2 ram, planning to upgrade it to 3gb soon as i could.
does it matters alot??

I don't think Cod4 is cpu intensive, more graphics. If you do overclock, you shouldn't see more than 5fps increase if any at all.

However in games that are cpu intensive such as supcom, overclocking helps tons.

Here are some good articles that cleeve did with different set ups. I know they show APG platforms and single core cpu's but it gives you a good idea about how CPU speed and GPU speed effect gaming. I think you at least want a 2Ghz chip. Anything slower bottlenecks most newer cards. I think cleeve said he was going to do a part 3 at some point and update it with some newer games. I think 2 gigs of memory is plenty.
