IBM promises cooler chips with capillary-action and water jets

Published on October 27, 2006

IBM's Zurich labs have developed a new heatsink and water-cooling that promises to cool chips up to six times better than conventional air cooling. The heatsink contains tiny channels similar to the capillaries you would see in tree leaves and in human circulator systems. The channels allow either water or heatsink compound to spread more uniformly and thereby dissipate more heat. Read more

Hi everyone,
I was thinking about upgrading my CPU cooling fan but instead started to look at watercooling systems. I have two computer, on one I have a Koolance EXOS which is great, but I do not want to spend that much on my other one. Looked at Thermaltake's Bigwater 760i, and 745. The 760i looks pretty easy to install but take up two bays. The 745 is a component system and looks a little more difficult to install.
Which one do you think is better or any other brands that are comparable in performance, price and fairly easy installation?

One thing on the 745 how do the pump and reservoir attach to the case?

Thanks

This isn't the best place to ask about water cooling. This forum isn't very active or many experienced users in certain fields.

Check out the water cooling section and ask for advice there.
