Hi. I have my vcore set manually to 1.375. However in the power management section of the bios it reads current vcore as 1.348, while in windows cpu-z reads around 1.344 (not a big difference). But i just want to make sure that the setting of 1.375v is not the actually vcore right? (as its the actual vcore of 1.348 / 1.344)

More about : correct vcore reading

CPU-Z has the correct reading.the voltage is different to the one you set in the BIOS is because there is a thing called Vdroop.which normally it will run at a slightly lower voltage and the spike or peak voltage will be the one you set in the BIOS.its a protection mechanism.

yeah i know about vdroop, i tried a pencil mod for my p35 ds3r mobo, didnt work :\. But anyway, I thought actually the number you set (in this case 1.375v) in the bios was the actual vcore. Because I didnt want to go more than 1.362v with an e8400 cpu. But since the actual vcore is around 1.344 i still have room

you can up the voltage but after you achieve your ideal overclock try to lower the vcore to minimise vcore for colder and longer operation.
