Hi, I am a first time NOOB o/c
My set is basically
E8400 @ 3.0 No Speed Step
VCORE 1.32
GA-P35-DS3P which is rated at 1333 FSB,Bios F7
Artic Cooler Pro 7
8GB [4X2]OCZ Reaper p6400 - 800@4-4-4-15
Corsair HX 620 Power
VISTA 64 HP

I am currently running @ 41'Degrees Idle and 52'Degs under Prime95
Can I up From 333 X 9[Which Is Max Multiplier] to 9X400=3.6 and will give me 1:1 with the Ram.To do so will set my FSB to 1600.Is this safe for the board which says 1333/1066/800.
Should I slacken the ram timings ect.
I have left the VCORE on Auto is this OK.
Please any advice appreciated,I have read the stickys but they way over me..!!

yeah it would be safe to run it on 400fsb.but just up all the avialable voltage in the bios by at least 1 notch to ensure stability.but the VVT/PLL might need more than 1 notch to get it stable.

and you should manage the Vcore yourself.because the mobo can pump insufficient or too much voltage to your CPU.

your timing is ok since it will b running on the same speed as before 1:1 ration 800mhz.run the ram at 2V just in case.but they are good quality ram might be able to do it on stock 1.8V or just 1.9V.

give it a try and come back here for help if you need to!:)

GOOD LUCK!!!

I'm just wondering.
How much does one have to increase (typically) FSB/(G)MCH voltages to get 400MHz on a GA-P35-DS3x board. And how much of an increase is still considered safe?

I have mine 1 notch (+0.05V) higher for FSB and 1 notch higher for (G)MCH.
Running stability tests now ;)

Sure.
I've read graysky's guide back in October before I bought my stuff but I haven't seen any posts on "how much" is a good bet for stable 400MHz FSB. I never went past 366MHz FSB which still booted on stock settings so I'm trying today :sol:

That's why you run Prime95 blend test for 24hours, which will detect errors from mobo or ram.

Word.
But voltage settings input from people who have been there and done that might come in handy in the guides (just as a safety net) to know what offers a good chance of being stable.

It appears that my 1 notch increase for both FSB/(G)MCH is stable at 400MHz FSB.
15 hours stable. Good enough for me. Time to change my config.
