This may be a well known problem but I cannot find a fix. I have Netgear D834G wireless router and Netgear W111 USB wireless device on a Dell 4500 desktop. Following a power down during an inadvertent Wirelss connetion "repair" I cannot get the connection to get IP addr from DHCP on router. Connect laptops to Router OK, problem is in the PC. Also cannot get ethernet connection from NIC and Router. How do I resolve TCP/IP problem.
Tried ipconfig/release and ipconfig/dnsflush but no joy .
Check to make sure that the settings on the network card properties are set to obtain an IP automatically.
Also, look into device manager to make sure that the card is there and functional.
Thanks but the router has been restarted several times and it is set to provide DHCP. The PC device settings for the NIC or the wireless connection a re also set to automatically obtain IP from DHCP. The devices a re shown in Device Manger as working properly.
