I purchased a Q6600 CPU and mobo bundle this weekend to do my first build, and I'm worried the mobo won't support the Quad.

The mobo is an ECS 671T-M, It says it supports Core 2 Duo, but not the Quad. Also, I have DDR2 800 memory... will it work? Just at a slower speed?

I was hoping to use onboard video and this mob until I can get some $$ to upgrade. (although probably not wise, eh?)

I'm not planning to OC, but would like to have the option.

Also need help on picking a PSU.

Thanks in advance.

What I have:
Q6600
ECS 671T-M
Coolermaster 690
2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 DUAL CHANNEL GOLD GX XTC C4 OCZ

I wouldn't worry about it, that was the 200 deal correct? If it doesn't work
just sell it and buy a different 1 on newegg or similar site. 200 for the q6600 is a good deal

Since the ECS website (http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Support/CPU_Support_Model.aspx?detailid=811&MenuID=69&LanID=0) indicates that the Q6700 *is* supported by the 671T-M mobo, my guess is that you won't have any trouble getting the Q6600 to work. :)
