I just got a q6600 on abit ip35 pro, my first build ever. I installed a tuniq tower on it and the only OCing ive done is FSB 333 to run the quad at 3ghz. Temps seem fine but its a bit weird to me maybe someone can help. Sometimes when I boot up temps will be like this: Core 0: 27 Core 1: 21 Core 2: 27 Core 3: 19 so is like core 0 and 2 are aboutr the same and 1 and 3 are about the same.

Now this is where it gets weird, sometimes after a reboot the temps seem to be about the same but switch cores, for instace core 0 and 1 will be 27 and core 2 and 3 will be 21, and other times its core 0 and 3 will be 27 and cores 1 and 2 will be 21, when loaded on prime 95 for 1 hour+ the temps dont seem to even out, they just seem to keep the same distance about 8-10c between them, any help or info would be appreciated, thanks.

All temps are taken with core temp, I am running windows XP. Also sometimes one of the cores says 17c on idle, which I am pretty sure its im possible since my thermostat here is set at 70f.

Fors30, you may have defective Digital Thermal Sensors (DTS). Use Real Temp 2.24 to test your sensors: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=28...

If you can't RMA your processor, you don't have to rely on Core temperatures. You can instead use CPU temperature, which is the ONLY temperature Intel supports. Read the Core 2 quad and Duo Temperature Guide to learn how to properly test, calibrate and monitor temperatures, so that you'll be confident that thery're correct: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/221745-29-core-quad-t...
