um what does overclocking mean?
Uhh...........
In easy terms, it is using your hardware beyond it's specified rating.
Example:
Setting your 3.0GHz Pentium 4 (Northwood) and increasing the clock speed to 3.6GHz.
Setting your PC3200 DDR Ram (400MHz) and running it at 600MHz.
Setting your video card with a default core-clock of 600MHz and ram speed of 1000MHz to 700/1500MHz.
Generally if you don't know overclocking it is best to simply don't do it. Unless of course you're interested then that's another matter. If you really want to overclock, you could go look at some of the articles here at tom's. Though overclocking is not recommended for the faint-hearted, those who care about warranties and those with pre-built systems.
