new build Bios wont load

I finished building a new rig and am unable to load the bios. I hit delete and it screen goes blank and nothing happens the bios specs are as follow:

Abit IP35-e
Intel E6750
OCZ2G800R22GK
Nvidia 8800GT
750W Silverstone

Edit:
I cleared the cmos and now the keyboard is not responding and I get "CMOS checksum error - defaults loaded" every time I boot

Edit:

Install a new MB battery and see if that solves the checksum error.
