Hello Everyone

I have RAID10 SATA w/ 4 WD HDD. I run Windows 2003 Server. Everything runs fine.

I am trying to add a SCSI drive, so I bought an Adaptec controller and plugged it all in.
The cabling and everything seems okay as I get to see the controller detect the drive at POST and im able to enter the controllers configuration.

The problem is that the minute windows starts booting it crashes and the computer resets. If I unplug the controller card and HDD everything resumes to boot up fine.

ANy idea of what may be causing this? Obviously im not setting something up right....

Thanks

Have you tried to bring the server up with the SCSI controller installed, but no disk connected to it?

been a long time since I used scsi, but didn't they have a terminator resistor/jumper on the last drive, seems that without telling the system that this the last/only scsi it will look for another and crash,I have a cheetah here and it has a couple of jumpers on it,see if you can get some docuzs from the hdd manufacturer ?????
