Hi all,

New to Tom's Hardware. I'm in search of a new system for gaming purposes. Wanted advice on what I've collected so far:

2. Nvidia Geforce 8800gt $299.99
3. OCZ platinum revision-2 2048mb pc6400 dd2 $29.99
4. Intel core 2 quad q6600 $279.99
5. XFX nFORCE 680i LT SLI mobo $99.99
6. Seagate 73gb 10K $179.99
7. Ultra Aluminum mid tower case $39.99
8. LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe $37.99

Haven't decided on a monitor yet. Any suggestions?

is it just me or is that mainboard EXTREMELY cheap...id say its more like $199... if you arent SLIing id get P35 chipset.

I dont know what you are on about with the Seagate 73Gb? The only one i can think of that does close to that is a Seagate Cheetah which is SAS NOT SATA. Maybe you are thinking of WD Raptor 74gb?

Some users have reported the xfx 680i lt makes a high-pitch noise while on the net. If you don't mind that or plug in your headphones the whole time, it won't matter.

By the parts, I already knew they're TD deals. :) Quite nice. I doubt their samsung monitors are ever on sale. It'd be what I get.
