alright so i am a noob to overclocking so i am asking the experts of these boards for a little advice.

i have a Q9300 with its stock fan. nvidia 780i sli Mobo. the load on my PSU is two HD's in raid and two 9800gtx's in SLI

my PSU - OCZ ModXStream OCZ780MXS ATX12V / EPS12V 780W Power Supply - Retail

so since ive never OC'd before i dont want to try to push this CPU to its max to risk having anything die so with my stock fan and the load on my PSU what would you guys reccomend i try to OC my CPU upto?

thanks.

i heard that the stock heatsink is not suitable for overclocking.as intel has find out after the e8xxx series a "better and bigger" heatsink is no longer needed to keep the 45nm cpu cool.

so now they use a smaller heatsink which provide the "minimum" so its intended to cool the cpu at stock and not much more.

i suggest you to buy a aftermarket cooler before the OC session begins:) but you might get some more out of what you got now.
