Hello, THE WINDOWS INSTALLER WINDOW ON MY XP PC IS COMING ON ABOUT 500 TIMES PER DAY. WHEN I DOUBLE CLICK ON ALMOST ANYTHING IT COMES ON WITH THE MESSAGE "PREPARING TO INSTALL". IT STAYS ON FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN DISAPPEARS. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE AFFECTING ANYTHING, BUT IT DOES GET QUITE ANNOYING. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. BUZZBOB

What program is "preparing to install"? Uninstall and reinstall that particular program.

And please don't write in all caps. It's the net equivalent of shouting.

Sorry about the caps. I'm a HEADLINE kinda guy. I appreciate your response.
I have no idea what program it is trying to install. The Windows installer
window appears with the message "Preparing to install", then it just disappears. Like I said before, it doesn't seem to be affecting anything,
but it's an unwanted distraction. Thanks, any ideas?

It usually pops up if you had a bad installation of a program. It doesn't say it's preparing to install program xxx?

Does it always pop up when you're doing a particular thing?
