Building a PC around E8400 with the intent on OC to 4.0GHz area.

I also like the idea of being able to SLI if not now then maybe later.

My wanting to OC this processor to 4.0 area is becoming more important then having SLI so at first I was looking at x38 mobos and they seem great for OC, been reading good reviews.

But, hell, I want to OC the crap out of my CPU AND run SLI so I started looking at 750i and 780i mobos.

My ultimate question is, is OC to this extent achievable on the nvidia sli boards?

To be honest, I don't want it to be a hassle to pull it off either, having to tweak the **** out of the mobo's voltages causing extra stress isn't something I want to do if I don't have to. So, would also like to hear about if it's a struggle to make an OC this high with these boards.

I'm looking at the eVGA 750i specifically which has FSB of 1333/1066MHz and because of that I keep second guessing.

Please help me decide on this, would love to see peoples results when OC e8400 on SLI boards too. :D

In order to get 4GHz on the E8400, you'll have to do 9 x 444MHz, which requires quite a bit voltage for the motherboard. I'm not too sure if you can do 444MHz on a 750i mobo, but if you can, it'll be really difficult imo.

Anandtech is trustworthy, many people reads from there.
