Hi All-

I had a new system all ready for purchase about 9 months ago. Obviously there was a lot of speculation in regards to the 8800 and prices... also, the Q6600 had a big impact. Here is the comparison - I don't really have the time to do the research i did 9 months ago (new job) would anybody be willing to fix the holes?

Then
CPU: E6600 $275
GPU: 8800 GTX $550
MOBO: Gigabyte DS3 $90
RAM: Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) $80
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM $85
CASE: Antec 900 $75
PSU: SILVERSTONE ZEUS SST-ST65ZF ATX12V 650W Power Supply - Retail $140
$1,295
Now:
CPU: Q6600 $275
GPU: XFX 8800 GT $299
MOBO: Gigabyte P35 DS3 $90
RAM: Lots of good cheap memory DDR2 PC2 6400 2 gigs for this price which one? $50
HD: Seagate SV35.2 ST3320620AV 320GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM $90
CASE: Antec 900 $75
PSU: SILVERSTONE ZEUS SST-ST65ZF ATX12V 650W Power Supply - Retail $100
$979

A couple of points:
1. CPU: Huge upgrade same price
2. GPU: Comparable performance, great price :D
3. Mobo: Gigabyte P35 DS3 @ $90 or ASUS P5K @ $100 :??:
4. Ram: So many good value choices 2 gb what is the best value? :??:
5. PSU: I liked the Zeus, however newegg has a great deal on the Silencer 610w for $129.99 or thermeltake tough power for 89.99 What do you think? :heink:

Case: Got a good deal on the antec back then for like 50 from Compusa - the rebate never happened though so now I feel cheated :(

Thanks for your help!

CPU is fine.
GPU is fine.
MOBO - Go with the Gigabyte if you're going to OC
RAM - you don't have to buy cheap, I think you can find some OCZ or Crucial Ballizstix (2x1GB Dual Channel DDR2 800) for about 40-50 after rebate.
PSU - Personally, I'd stick with Silverstone or the Silencer line of PSU's.
