Hi
Just recently, for no apparent reason, my dvd drive decided to stop reading dvds, but still reads CD's. It wont play games at all, nor movies. There isn't an error message at all, it just seems to load for eternity, with that green LED flickering.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Wellll ,,,when mine [an LG BTW] did that it would read anything but would not write,,at all,,,if everything is properly connected ??? ,,you are probably gonna have to get a new dvd,you can play with until you turn green but ,it's likely SNAFU'ed...
As a last resort, you could take it out and take it apart,it's real easy ,they just drop into the metal casing,,and maybe it is a little dirty inside or,got something in front of the lens,,or possibly one of the internal ribbon cables has worked itself loose,,had that once too,if it is not working,,what have you got to lose you have to take the bezel off of the tray to get it to seperate from the casing after that it is easy just taking out screws and the front plastic latches, after all they are not that costly anymore...the real fun starts when you get a dvd that can't even read the dvd's that it wrote,,talk about new four letter technical terms,i think that the air is still blue somewhere's around here.....
