Gaming PC (Spent less than $500) How is it?

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
ECS 671T-M
2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 DUAL CHANNEL GOLD GX XTC C4 OCZ
CoolerMaster Mystique 632S ATX Mid Tower Case
LG 18X SUPER MULTI DRIVE INTERNAL (SATA) DVD-/+RW BURNER
Antec Basiq 500w
Maxtor 300GB Serial ATA/300 16MB Buffer L01F300
BFG - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT OC Graphics Card

Total cost (before Mail-in Rebate): $610.02
Total cost (after Mail-in Rebate) $485.02

How is that? I'm aware the motherboard isn't all that great so that needs to be replaced. I'm looking at either:

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

Is there a big difference between them? Would you guys recommend something else? I don't know much about motherboard (PCs for that matter), so I just want to go the cheapest route. Any help would be much appreciated.

wow. i spent 3000+ on a similar setup just 4 months ago! Well done, glad to know what i'll be able to get for my money the next time i upgrade (i'm a poor student now so i won be able to pound down 3k next time).

Wow, nice build :sol:

The difference between the two motherboards is:
1- The R has 4 more SATA ports
2- The R has eSATA connections
3- The R has an ICH9R Southbridge (a bit better than ICH9)
4- The R supports 1066 MHz DDR2 RAM (from their list)

And all of that doesn't matter for your gaming PC setup.
Gigabyte is a good well known company and you can't go wrong with them.

I advise you to find a HDD better than Maxtor like Seagate or WD.

Wow! You could throw the mother board away and still have a great deal. I'm sad, that we have no Fry's around here.

Wow... that's got to be the deal of the century. That really is impressive.

Thanks for all the commets about the deal. I got all the items fom Fry's on Black Friday except the 8800 GT. I got that from Best Buy using my employee discount and store credit. All I had to pay was like around $140.

So there is no different between the 2 motherboards, right?
