You can use a bit of a work-around to get the other computer display on your laptop, but you will be working on the laptop and not the PC.

If both are on the same network, you can use the mstsc command to connect to the other computer, and have it's screen show up on the laptop as a remote session. It won't be the same as a monitor, and you will have some issues with graphics, but will get the PC display on the laptop.
