hiya guys

have just ordered a new system with 6600 etc and chose the Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP Black Pearl Special Edition

http://uk.asus.com/products.aspx?l [...] odelmenu=1

and ordered OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel DDR2

for it atm. But have been told Vistsa likes more RAM... (Running XP Pro now - Vista 64 later)

Is this motherboard ok with 4 sticks of this mem and going for a high OC, or will the 4 sticks cause this board some problems...? Have heard some boards don't really like 4 sticks??

Do I need such fast memory - the MB Nativly supports DDR2 1066MHz

2x 2 gig 8500 sticks are still both arer to find and expensive!
My supplier only sells OCZ2x 2gig DDR2 8000 1000MHz memory... and not too cheap either

I have maybe today left to change the memory in an order I just placed if needed..

Any tips are Greatly welcome :)

2 GB is okay for Vista. 4 sticks will lower the overclock speed. Better 2 sticks.
The memory speed depends on the processor you choose.
Choose 1 speed up form the processor speed for the memory.

2x2gb is the way to go

Thanks guys

in the end I stuck with 2x 1Gig 8500 sticks as nice and cheap + supplier I was ordering from had no 8500 2x 2Gig sticks.

Will sell later and upgrade when I feel the need :)
