HI all,

I'm doing my first build and would like some advice/suggestions.The more I look at memory the more confused I get (which doesn't take much =P ).

This is what I have :

EVGA 780i board (supports DDR2 (epp1.0) 1200/800/667/533)
INTEL QX9650
EVGA GTS 8800 512 (x2)
VISTA 64 ULT.

I've gone to the EVGA site to check out what they suggest . Now the thing is this, I really dont know what would be the best choice . As far as brand ,speed , 4x1 or 2x2 ,and so forth .And if there is any newer products that have come out recently that might be better .

One of my buddies suggested these :(which are on the evga list)

Corsair TWIN2X2048-8500C5D

But like I said ,I really dont know what to look for .

I guess I'm just looking for a direction to head in .

Thanks for any and all responses in advance

Suggest you go the crucial.com and enter you mobo mfg and model and it will list all the RAM that will work with that machine. Some where on the site they they good explanations of things like timing, etc. The Crucial Ballistic is good RAM and reasonably priced. If you can afford it, go with 2 x 2GB for 4GB total. If you're not running a 64 Bit OS, it will only read about 3.3 GM of RAM but that's better than 2GB if you can afford. Otherwise go with 2 x 1GB for 2 GB. Given prices get DDR2800
