Need a mobo that supports pci-e 2.0 help (about to build)

ok i havent slept... for a number of reasons and its 7:36 am and so excuse any large errors

I am looking for a board that will be as future proof as possible. I am going witht he 8800gts 512mb however i want to be able to upgrade to the 9 series when they come out. SO can someone please tell me a board i can pick up. Preferably asus or something

x38 for dual PCIE 2.0. 780/790i when they are available. X38 is all set up for a Crossfire setup.

OP will get PCIE 2.0, but 780i will not support Penryn quad core processors, only the dual cores. 790i will.
