hi im really really REALLY confused! im new to ocing BUT i have done abit and been lookin at loadsa stuff on the net.

i have MSI P7N SLI mobo and the E8400. i have changed fsb vcore blah blah blah and in the bios it says its a 3.6GhZ ( i have tryed lower ect all with same results as follows) but when i load in to xp OR vista its still clocked at 3GhZ? am i doin somthing totally stupid? i just bought the new mobo and cpu and ram (PC8400) tooverclock but really BAFFLED????

HELP PLEASE PEEPS :(

It might be throttled. If that's the case, turn off speedstep in Bios.
