i just wanted to make a post about this uk based site.

after a product failure, and some terrible customer service, they would not let me post a negative (yet thruthful) product review.

i often read reviews of products on there, and i just think people should know that these reviews are screened, and not representative.

the reviews often state how great the customer service is over there, eg:

"my card broke and they sent me a replacement the very next day. thanks OCUK, youre the best!!"

really, not likely.

it wouldnt surprise me if they made them all up :)

Plz get you facts right...

The link:
http://www.overclocker.co.uk/

goes to a web page about overclocking with a prominent (graphical) link to www.aria.co.uk

on the right...

So WTF are you on about???

Umm the thermal past goes on the CPU. :pt1cable:

Its not meant to be sniffed, used as lip balm or as a hand lotion when you and Mrs. Palmer get it on. Is also not advisable to put it on your Rice Krispies or mix it with whatever you are smoking buddy. :non: :pfff:

Hope that clears up any misunderstandings you may have regarding the usage of this product. :heink:

See I can also post random crap. :kaola: :bounce:

Well I for one will never buy from http://www.overclockers.co.uk/, of course I live in the US. Why don't you change the thread title and put an "s" in there. You should have linked to the site and checked it. If you are going to to slam a site at least get it right.

mikenothing Im with you on that one, and bobwya if your in (cambridge) england im surprised you havent heard of overclockers.co.uk. Zorg dont be such a knob hes just trying to report some bad service from a uk vendor. Give him a break.

I nearly always buy from scan.co.uk as custom pc magazine raves about how great they are. Anyway, for the record, can you describe more about what happened mikenothing? what you bought and what happened when it all went wrong? Ive considered buying from overclockers cos I've read some good things about them, but you might just change my mind.

All I said is get it straight, good grief it isn't that hard.

I also use www.scan.co.uk and www.aria.co.uk and have never had an issue with either of them. :hello:

Scan was even willing to refund me after I bought a 19" LCD which had 2 dead pixels. :sol:

So a few facts, like what hardware failed, and some examples of that terrible customer service are not too much to ask if you are going to slam a supplier.

overclockers.co.uk have always been good to me. Never had to deal with customer service. Their deliveries are prompt and allow you to track your order via the couriers website.

The only issue I have had with them has been recently. I had a 8800GT on pre-order. The due date came and went 3 times, each time just being put back another week or so. I thought sod it and cancelled the order. They had already taken the money out of my account about 3 weeks before the product was due, and then didn't bother sending me an email when its due in stock date changed 3 times. i phoned them last night and should be credited the £200 in 72 hours

Thats still a bit rank on their part. They should have been in contact with you more considering they had already taken your hard hearned dosh. On the subject of new hardware, its a pity we in the u.k get everything late/are of the lowest priority!

Get the impression overclockers.co.uk is a fairly small operation, maybe not as 'slick' as scan and aria. Scan are not the cheapest, but theyre very helpful if there is a problem or stock issue, and a generally good company to buy from. Would still like to know what mikenothing's problem with them was? maybe hes not online that often so might have to wait a bit for him to reply...

I think it was the fact they would not let him post a negative review, even if he had a legitimate gripe with the product. Bit off if you ask me but you can see their point. Just make sure to know that all their reviews are screened and to take them with a pinch of salt.

well, sorry americans, if i didnt link to it, but anyone in the UK will know what i mean when i say overclockers.

i just felt cheated, and was irritated that they would not post my review, especially after i trusted their "customer reviews". and so, i wanted to post something somewhere where they wouldnt edit me.

i have had generally good service from them, but they let me down with customer service.

Reply to mikenothing

Duly noted. Will think twice about using them.

Reply to spoonboy

I've used overclockers loads before, and i have found their customer service re: broken parts to be very good. i had a graphics card die after 3 months of use and they sent me a replacement with no hassle.

I've had bad experience with them too. Their customer service is awful.

I will never use them again - there are plenty of good sites out there such as scan, aria, microdirect, dabs, tekheads - why bother with the chaff?
