IE multiple instances

Task Manager - one IE application running showing multiple processes. Trying to end the process that is taking up CPU resources. Keeps coming back - is it a malware issue? What files/registry entries need to be deleted? I know this is not an uncommon issue - what is the best fix?doug.rlty@gmail.com

Do you have several tabs open? Each new tab starts a new ie process.
