Some where inside a WRT310N Linksys wirelewss Gigbit router is a switch that is not allowing the router to tramsitt a signal so laptop and other desk PC can see the wifi - - where is that switch?

You need to address the router's user interface via Internet Explorer. Normally the ayddress that you'd put in the Explorer address bar is 192.168.0.1

Suggest you download the manual for the router from Linksys.

I believe for USA linksys products the address is by default http://192.168.1.1 you can enable/disable the radio there.
