Alright so this is what's going on. I downloaded 3dmark 05 from Gamershell to see what my score would be with my OC and Vista installed. In 05 when I had it on XP, I scored 22,000ish. I ran it today and I scored 9,000. The problem is that all of the videos were from 06, yet it clearly says it's 05 in all of the menus. I can't figure out what the hell is going on. I certainly didn't get 9,000 in 06 with my rig, but I sure as hell didn't get 9,000 in 05 with my rig.

WTF!

My rig:
Intel Core 2 Duo e6300 @ 3.2Ghz
EVGA Geforce 7900GS @ 600/1550
2GB of DDR2-800
Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit

You wouldn't score that high with two 7900's in SLI and overclocked almost to the point of letting the smoke out.
9000 seem's about right.

I used to score 9,000 ish on my old machine in 05. It was using a 6800GT. My friend who is using 2x 7600GS gets 14,000 in 05. He was getting 7,000 with one card. In 06, I totally agree that's pretty much impossible, but 05?

Also, it's using the 06 videos, like Return to Proxicon and the one with the faeries. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't 05 start out with the jets?

Here check this out: http://www.***.com/forums/benchmarks/5074-3dmark-05-a.html

Find the system most like yours and compare your score. Everyscore there is confirmed and legit. 3dmark05 is almost the exact same test as 06. They use a lot of the same levels.

edit: moderators, wtf? why is the link still getting censored? give it up already will ya? OK my link is being censored, what I am saying is the laptop in my sig scored 9553. No way you are going to beat that with a 7900GS. I think you are thinking of 03.

Which one uses the Jets and the goblins? There's also a turtle from the 05 I remember.

Hi,
I got 11455 3DMarks on '05 with my rig - so that's about right.
It's 3DMark '03 that starts with the WWII airplanes, then a space battle, then the 2 trolls (and I score 19786 on that one).
Regards

Yeah I'm sorry about that, I Googled all of the tests and it was 03' that I was thinking of. I have no idea why I thought that 05' was 03', but I'm sorry for being a retard.

to start with, no one scores double by adding a second card in SLI.With a single 8800Ultra i scored a little over 13,400,with my 2nd Ultra added and SLI Inabled I scored 17,554 in 3DM06. So theres no way your friend went from 7000 to 14,000 just by adding a second card.I find that very hard to belive. 3DM06 does not perform as well in Vista as it does in XP,at least thats what i keep hearing.

It was in 03 that my friend achieved those scores. You are right about that though, he was more in the 8500-9000 range (it was a long time ago, so I was just giving a generalization of his scores). Yeah I figured that 3Dmark didn't perform as well as it does in XP, considering I get around 20,000 in 03 with Vista, and I had 22,3xx in 03 with XP.

Yep, you did. I think the biggest factor is your CPU versus mine. The E6300 should beat the crap out of a T7200 in the CPU tests and that's probably what made the difference. It is a good score though.

edit: especially since I just noticed the 3.2ghz OC on the E6300. That definitely helped your score out. lol
