Windows temp folder

My anti-virus software keeps on detecting some virus from different folders from the C:\WINDOWS\temp folder, yet all folders are empty . It detects trojans from those empty folders . All folders from the temp folder are empty. Can't I just delete it all?

You can delete the subfolders, not the Windows Temp folder. Time to change A-V's. What A-V is doing this?

There may be some hidden files in there. Go to tools-->folder options-->view tab-->click the circle to display hidden files and folders.

Avira is a good quality AV. If it's finding threats, it's worth looking into.

Boot into safe mode with networking (F8 on startup). Download, install, and update malwarebytes. Do a full system scan.
