had friends over tonight to watch a blu-ray and was horribly embarassed that it wouldn't work all of a sudden. just watch a movie about two weeks ago and tonight, nothing. get a window popping up that says, "windvd mfc application has stopped working" and i can't play anything. once in a while i can get the movie i watched a few weeks ago to play, but no go with anything else. please help.

You are using windvd? use VLC player (free) or PowerDVD (if you want a more feature rich experience)

WinDVD is horrible, always has been. There's nothing wrong with Pioneer.

I have both powerDVD and VLC, and I'd recommend VLC. VLC is a great program and less bulky than powerDVD.
