About ready to rebuild. Will be installing an E6850 on a new Abit IP35 Pro. Searched some on the Intel site but could not find what they specify for the proper core voltage. On one site I saw a range of .962 to 1.35 and also saw on another forum that 1.2 was the starting point for overclocking an E6750. What I'm looking for is either Intel's voltage spec or some 6850 user's guidance for a safe starting point (to run at 3.0). Also interested in what voltage values might be useful for the BIOS settings that trigger a CPU shutdown if the voltage gets way out of range.

Well you can try to overclock it to what ever it is that you want at stock voltage and then work your way down in voltage until you found the sweet spot.
