Hello,
i changed my OS from Vista to Xp. Some how both my Drives got formatted. is there any way to get my datas form the D Drive. pls help.

Here's a couple of free utilities which might help - depending on the depth of the formatting - Recuva from http://www.piriform.com (the CCleaner people and Restoration2514 from http://www.win-freeware.com/REST2514.htm. Anything stronger than those will cost you so try both first.

What a remarkable website and how strange the similarity between its and your own very slightly flawed English grammar and writing style. Are you going to pick out all the old threads about deleted data and advertise your product?

Technically speaking, Formatting won't make the data in the hard disk erased permanently at the moment, I think. Those formatted data are still stored on the disk just invisible or inaccessible. Only the FAT or NFTS table erased the information about where those data were saved but the real data are still intact there in sectors of the disk.So as long as those data are not overwritten by new data, it's highly possible to recover them with some file recovery software or more specificly some format recovery programs to get them recovered. Be careful, before the formatted data are recovered, better not put more data to the drive.
