what kind of a PS should i get

I'm gonna build my computer end of this month. I wanna know what kind of a power supply should i get.

The spec is:
Intel core 2 Duo E6750 2.66Ghz 1033Mhz
Intel DP35DP Main board
1GB 800 X 2 RAM
160GB SATA
8600GT 256MB

a corsair 450w is plenty if you do not plan to overclock or upgrade

If you plan to overclock but not upgrade the 550 is more than enough, and has enough juice to upgrade the video card

If you plan for major upgrades in the future, with multiple hard drives or something, anything around 600-750 will be more than enough.

Generally speaking, since I don't know if you plan on OC'ing or not, but you should be fine with a Antec 380w Earthwatts PSU. You wouldn't have really any upgrade room with that PSU, but it would work at stock speeds. I'd recommend at least a Corsair vx450w PSU that has 33A on the 12V rail, so you'd have plenty of power for upgrades. Here are a few options to consider:

All of the PSU's above will allow you to OC, with room to spare. You can decide which one suits you the best, but anyone of them will work.

Edit: Forgot to mention that this PSU/Case combo is quite nice for the $. It has the Antec 500w Earthwatts PSU, as mentioned above.

why the 8600GT? there are many other better options at the moment.

From low price to high I would reccommend:

8800GS
9600GT
8800GT

You can probably find a 8800GS for around the same price as the 8600GT
