Can you helped me with build a system w/ Phenom system base and an ATI 3870 on graphic. And i'm want to "play a scoring mark" with the Phenom. I want a stability on the system when comes to OCed, i'm a little bit confused here. This is my first time build an AMD system and OCed, usually "play" with Intel. First of all, thanks for the choice.

Nice overclock...for a Phenom :p But so what. I'm able to overclock my X3350 to 3.7Ghz with just using "Auto" settings in my BIOS while using over 100 watts less power and maintain much cooler temps. Oh, and I don't need watercooling to overclock it that high either (Notice how "Tony, the Jedi Master" is using a liquid cooled system). I have a 100% air-cooled system. I'm using a Thermaltake V1 copper heat sink. My system is rock stable in both 3DMark06 and Prime95 with my X3350 @ 3.7Ghz w/1.34V :sol:

Seriously, no AMD bashing. AMD has finally introduced a product worth buying...albeit $245 for this "very late to the game" processor is a bit high. They should be selling it for about $180.

Regardless of direct performance comparisons (Current Intel CPUs completely dominate anything AMD has...for now), I love competition...Intel VS AMD...the consumer always wins!

Uuhhhh... That's really nice. But, how the system stability? I'm a bit worried, coz i really had a bad exeprience. When i'm OCed my old P4 2,4 Ghz to 3,8 Ghz, the board got blown up. Pretty stupid i think.

Not stupid, because I know what I'm doing. I don't want to be rude. But, that's your problem. I have no issues with my set-up whatsoever. I do know how to manually overclock and adjust voltages. Is it the safer way to go versus using the "Auto" settings? Sure (especially for beginners who don't know what to look for). In my particular situation, it doesn't matter either way. But for some with different set-ups, it probably won't work correctly.

Besides, why the heck are you bringing up an example like that??? P4 2.4Ghz? Motherboards back then weren't designed for the type of overclocking that is done today. No multi-phase capable MOSFETS, no solid capacitors, ...nuff said! Please use a recent example. I've never heard of anyone blowing up there motherboard using "Auto" settings. I've seen a few fry their E8400s though by MANUALLY setting their voltages past 1.5V...

Probably because all the hardcore OCers don't use auto settings? And people who does use auto tends to be moderate OCers, so there's very little issues with that.

yeah, i guess its old stories back with my P4. by the way i use manual OCed with intel D865PERL. But i'm satisfied and brought another P4 3.06 Ghz standard clock and still running until now. But, i want try out the AMD latest Processor for my investment. Hopefully last for 2 years before crazy game resource eater published.

The Phenom, AMD's latest CPU, is rather a poor OCer. However they do offer a great bang for the buck when OCing isn't considered.
