ok, so i'm attempting my first build soon, but I want t make sure what i'm is compatible and what improvements are possible within my budget. I'm only buying frm one supplier where possible as I want to keep delivery charges down and purchase off of reputable companies.

here it goes:

processor: intel E6750 - £114
Mobo: XFX S775 nForce 680i LT SLI DDR2 ATX - £91
GPU: MSi 7300GT 256mb passive heatsink - £42
Case: Antec 900 0 £68
PSU: corsair 520W - £57
RAM: Corsair Memory 2GB DDR2 6400 - £48
CPU cooler: Zalman Heatpipe CPU cooler with quiet 110mm blue LED fan - £34
HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax 21 320GB 7200RPM 8MB - £49
Floppy drive: sony internal - £6
dvd drive: comes from current pc

Total cost :£510 (budget is meant to be £500)

If i've missed anything out thats required tell me and if you have any better alternatives also let me no.
Finally i will upgrade and i know the GPU and HDD aren't exactly top-notch but i need to get this machine built sooner rather than later for college Computing work.

Any reason the floppy cant come from your current PC?
Use that £6 to get a 1GB USB Flash Drive instead.

The E6750 comes with a decent stock CPU cooler. £34 saved for GPU upgrade.
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB HD @ Dabs for £43
CoolerMaster Centurion 5 Black/Silver Case @ Dabs for £38
Gigabyte S775 Intel P35 @ Dabs for £72
Those changes save enough for you to upgrade GPU to Sapphire HD 3850 @ Dabs for £106

ok thanks i'll look into a different fan and i'll swap to the other HD as well. Also the reason i haven't got a floppy is... my prior computer didn't come with one :(
