I just moved in to a new house. The router is set up pretty far from my room and it would probably be a pain to run a wire to it. There is currently a wireless network that hits my room, but my desktop does not have a wireless card. I was wondering - Can I set up a wireless bridge using my router and then basically use it as a switch for my room? I definitely want to keep as low ping/high performance as possible. I will be wanting to play games like unreal tournament. Can I do the wireless bridge or should I just suck it up and run a wire?

Both routers are Linksys wrt54g models. Mine is a gs I'm not to sure wether the other is a g or gs at the moment.

I doubt if that would work -- simpler to buy a wireless adapter and if range is insufficient use an ethernet link between the two routers using the second as an access point.

However, for gaming I would forget wireless altogether.
