So I'm beating myself and question my every move. Will there be any compatiblity issues? Am I making the right decision? Do I need a sound card? This is my first build and maybe i'm just being anal. But Im not trying to overspend and probably will not overclock but want the option of maybe doing it in the future. Please critque this build. I primarily download movies, surf the net and have got to be able to stream easily to my 360 and hdtv. I will be using the system to game. Not really hardcore, but I like fps's. Any and all help and opinions would be appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to save a buck or two also. Thank you. :hello:

That's basically the same system I have. you won't be disappointed. I use mine for running multiple VM images and I play Crysis and the machine works well.

You didn't list your motherboard, which one are you thinking of buying?

It likely will be the GO stepping. The last one I bought from Newegg was the same item, but I got the GO stepping. Though, there are no guarentees on that. I called and tried to get them to send me a GO specifically, and they don't do that.

I think by now, though, you chances of getting the GO are good.

thats a good point about the go stepping. I might have to go with clubit or somewhere else that does guarantee it. no point in taking chances.

My Q6600 does not have the GO stepping, but I bought mine a few months ago @ newegg. I actually bought 5 Q6600 from newegg all at the same time and all are B stepping. I would buy it from clubit for the guarantee .

One thing I would change is the heatsink. The Zalman 9500 is an old design that only places in the middle as far as heatsinks go when viewed on heatsink reviews. Its also a bit overpriced. For about the same amount of money you can get a good tower design from Tuniq, Thermalright or Thermaltake, all of which will cool the cpu a lot better than the Zalman 9500. Of course, if you don't overclock the Zalman will work well enough and be a bit easier to install.

Great stuff. I never knew about the process finder. That sounds like a good idea about going with the thermaltake. I cant tell you how many times I added and removed it from my cart. As for the case. To be honest I just like the sleek look of the p180. I wish I would have bit on frys deal 2 weeks ago.
