When i remove a pen drive there is no message saying its ok to do so

hi when i remove a pen drive i use the safely rem icon
normaly i would get a message message saying ok to do so
but for some reason the message does not appear

Does the drive actually dissapear from the list of removable devices in that icon once you do that though, even if the message does not show up? Try simply rebooting the PC?

thanks for your reply,I have managed to sort problem
Display ballon messages was disabled in the registry
the Dword was set 0 (disable)reset to 1 (enale) =Back in buisness Press Windows+R, type regedit and hit enter. This starts the registry editor
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Explorer / Advanced
Create a new Dword and name it EnableBalloonTips
The value should be automatically set to 0, if it is not change it to 0
Reboot Windows Vista
