What kind of performance improvements could be seen by moving from an X2 5200+ to an X2 6400+ if any? I'm looking from a gaming stand point. I really don't see the point in a Phenom quad core yet, as they don't even perform as well as some of the dual core processors in games.

phenom is a joke right not, at least from a gaming stand point cause they are just too slow. The 6400 is fast but u could overclock the 5200 far enough that u wouldnt see much of an improvement in performance...at least for the money. I would just stick with the 5200 until amd comes out with a 3ghz phenom...which wont be soon, maybe 09.

Thanks for the reply, I forgot to mention, I don't overclock anything. I would rather just spend the money on the X2 6400+ and sell my old X2 5200+, it would offset a little of the cost. That is if their is noticable improvement.

Just look at the CPU charts.. I know it doesn't have the 6400+, but the 6000+ you could compare the benches that would best fit your situation, and make a decision for your own cost/performance on the 2. So the difference would be 200 mhz.

If you don't overclock then go for the 6000+ X2...since the 6400+ is designed for OCing, and costs a hell of a lot less, and you loose 200mhz.

If you have the cash go for the 6400 I guess
