I just built my new rig and ran 3DMark 06.

I'm running:
Intel E6750 Stock, No Overclock
Gigabyte P35-DS3P
EVGA 8800GT Superclocked
2x1GB Patriot Extreme
Antec 500 Neo PS

My score was 8760 which seems pretty low. The CPU score was 2363.

What's the easiest way to determine if it's the CPU or the GPU?

GPU-Z says for Bus Interface: PCI-E 2.0 x16@x4

CPU-Z says under Mainboard/Graphic Interface: Link Width x4 - Max Supported x16

Shouldn't they be all be at x16? I can't find anything in the BIOS about it.

Any ideas.

Thanks.

Yea its your PCIe bus. Kind like when I had an old AGP card and forgot to install the chipset drivers so the AGP bus would run at 1x instead of 8x.

Make sure our chipset drivers are installed. My suggestion is to check your hardware and make sure the PCIe bus is installed and working properly.

I've installed the latest chipset drivers, but no change.

The second time I ran 3DMark06, I set the card to Performance and got a slightly better score of 8979. Still low from what I've seen.

May I'll try the second PCI-E slot...

Nevermind...

I'm an idjit. I installed the vid card in the 2nd PCI-E slot.

Now I'm getting 11391 for a 3DMark06 score. Quite a bit better.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled program.
