Hello , guys i have one simple question... im getting new pc
so i wondering what processor should i go?
im going this processor...
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6750 CPU @ 2.66GHz 1333FSB 4MB L2 Cache 64-bit
but my friend suggest me go
Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q6700 @ 2.66GHz 1066FSB 8MB L2 Cache 64-bit
so i dont get it does these 4MB and 8MB makes huge difference?
p.s sorry for my bad english i hope u understand what im trying to say

The difference isn't the Cache. The quad core has 4 cores, the dual core has 2. The quad core is 2x the dual core giving it twice the cache.

The Q6600 would be a better idea.

The quad core physically has two dual core processors inside of it. The increase in cache is not the difference between a dual core and a quad core. Yes it has double the cache, but that's because it has double the cores.

If you've already bought it I wouldn't worry about it.

Going with a dual core instead of a quad should be alright as the prices allow for a nice budget gamer. However, you can never go wrong with a quad core (as far as i can tell), they should be pretty nice in the future.

As far as the Q6700 is concerned... i would strongly suggest the Q6600. Most people will tell you that paying almost twice the price for the same processor but with an extra .26ghz is not worth it. Besides, if you can't reach 3.0ghz with a Q6600 you would be very unlucky.

I'm not sure if waiting for the full Penryn line to come out in January is worth it either. From what I have read, they don't plan to drop the price of todays CPUs with the release of Penryn.

...Buy a Q6600; it will make you very happy!!
