alright, so I just got a new mobo, cpu, etc. My hard drive and dvd drive are both sata. They are both detected fine in bios. I was able to boot from my xp disc and do the first part of the xp install (copying files to disk). however, after I reboot, it wont boot from the hd to continue the install. it doesnt give an error message saying there is no boot medium or anything, it just sits there.
Anyone have any ideas? I loaded fail safe defaults in bios and still nothing. I have no clue why its doing this.
Power off, open the case & move the SATA cable from the current SATA connector to the next one on the motherboard.
Turn on computer and boot into BIOS, disable "SATA AHCI Mode". Make sure you can see your HD regconized in BIOS & 2nd boot sequence = HD (first boot sequence = DVD ..). Save & reboot. Hope it works :-)
