widescreen display with Intel D865GBF motherboard

I build a PC for my wife four years ago with an Intel D865GBF motherboard.

I just drive the CRT 4:3 display straight off the integrated motherboard graphics.

But -- The XP display settings do not provide a 16:9 or 16:10 widescreen option.

I really don't want to reflash the BIOS to see if Intel added more modern options if I don't have to.

I really don't want to buy a graphhics card if I don't have to.

I'm suspicious that no matter what I do, I'll have update the motherboard drivers or BIOS to get it to work with new monitor aspect ratios.


Can someone point me in the right direction?
