I have the GA-PA35-DS3L MOBO....I'VE NOTICED THAT AT TIMES THE CPU HEAT SINK FAN JUST IS NOT RUNNING...? WHAT IS THAT? IS THE AUTOMATIC FAN SENSOR MESSING UP? I TRIED TURNING THAT THING OFF, BUT LORDY THE NOISE IT MAKES RUNING AT FULL SPEED IS AWFUL....GRR...

ANY IDEAS?

ANYONE CAN RECOMEND A HEAT UTIL TO SEE WHAT THE HEAT ON MY CPU IS?

PLEASE FORGIVE CAPS.....MY EYES ARE TIRED....

Speed Fan, Core Temp and Intel TAT (for C2D and C2Q CPUS) to see your temps.

In the BIOS you should have a option like Q-fan for the ASUS P5B board. It controls the CPU fan RPM depending on the CPU temp. If you disable the fan will run @ 100% all the time.

If it enabled it will turn off the fan when the CPU is not under load and will turn on when it needs to cool the CPU. If you dont mind the noise of the fan at 100% all the time then disable it. If you want the board to control the RPM then leave it enabled.

This only works with 4 pin CPU fans. If you have a 3 pin the Q-fan will not work. The CPU fan with 3 pins will run at 100% all the time unless you have a manual in line adjuster like the Zalman 9500 i have.
