This may be an obvious answer to some but I'm new at to all of this and I'm trying to get a build together. I chose an Asus p5k-e wifi Mobo and I was planning to run HD3850 x2. If the motherboard has 2 PCIex16 slots does that mean it can support crossfire? I know that you nead an SLi Mobo in order to run SLi but how do I know if my mobo can run crossfire?

Looking it up, I found this http://www.ciao.co.uk/ASUS_P5K_E_W [...] ductdetail . It looks like you have 2 pci slots, one 16x the other 4x. Bigger is better, and that board may stunt your cards (the one on the 4x)

Yes it does. SLI is for nVidia cards and X-fire is for AMD cards. So yes, the ASUS supports AMD video cards.
