do you even have to connect any fans to your mobo or can you just hook them all up to fan controllers including the cpu cooller fan
 
You can connect system fans to the motherboard or to a molex connector.
The advantage of connecting them to the motherboard is that the bios can watch them and alert you if they fail. The advantage of connecting them to a molex, is that you are not feeding off of the current of the motherboard.
The CPU fan should be connected to the motherboard, so the bios can alert you if it is not working. They could be connected to a molex or fan controller, but you would not know if they failed.

That's the brand I use on the 7 computers in my game LAN.
I don't know why I bother becuase I have the case and CPU fan full speed all the time anyhow...Silverstone FM-121's @ 110 QFPM FTW! :pt1cable:

To OP: I must warn you, the LEDs are bright. It's bright enough so that when you stare at it directly, you'll have to squint as if you're looking into the sun.
