hey guys, I'm new here and I've been looking around and have gotten some good information, but I'm not totally sure what would be best for my setup. I'm looking to get a 6 drive raid 5 array (seagate 7200.11 1tb) only problem is the mobo ive been looking at (Gigabyte GA-X48-DS4 (X48)) only has 2 16x pcie (which im going to use for crossfire) and then 3 1x pcie... no 4x pcie for the raid controller im wanting (3ware 9650SE-8LPML) from what I've read it seems that using it in a 1x slot would really hurt my performance so I started to wonder if just using the raid 5 on the board would be better and cheaper.

what should I do? I can't seem to find all the numbers I need to make a such an expensive decision on such a specific problem.

anybody know of any mobos with the same specs but an extra 4x pcie? or is there something I missed and using it in a pcie 1x slot won't be all that bad after all?

I appreciate any help, I'm just really frustrated and want to get this computer together perfect.
