Seems like to me either drivers for crossfire isn't mature or the 8800GTS 512mb is just plain better(in most cases). I believe the 3850 512mb costs ~$209, so the 8800GTS 512mb is a better buy...if it's priced under $400. Well, the 8800GT is still the best deal

Yes, premature drivers should be the reason to the performance gap between them. Plus the motherboard they used isn't the Spider platform. The platform of which these cards perform optimally on.

i really would not trust that resource. in just about every single review i have seen on other sites, 3850 256 crossfired is equivilant to the GTX and sometimes even the Ultra on many benchmarks...this is the only review i have seen where crossfired 3850s get beat by a single 8800GT
Um...yeah. 3850 Crossfire beats an Ultra in Crysis, and the 3870 Crossfire beats the Ultra at everything. It was released two days ago, so I'm guessing they were using the latest driver. So drivers do make a difference! omgsh!
