Mobo/CPU replacement, Pls help

I'm replacing my old Intel915/Prescott with a GA-P35/Conroe and appropriate RAM. I will be using existing graphics card (7900GT), hard drive, optical drives, case, PSU, etc.

Will I have to do anything special with the OS, drivers, etc after I've hooked up my old HD to the new MOBO? Or will XP just recognize the new MOBO and I'm "off to the races"?

Repair from the Windows CD or a fresh OS install with a new mobo.

Thanks. I know this should be under a different topic, but will "repair" leave my current files and settings intact?

Yes, but do a backup to CD or whatever media you have just in case.
