I'm trying to O.C. my CPU to at least 3.6ghz. All my friends know little to nothing about my board cpu and DDR3 Ram. Was wondering if i could get some tips and some advice on o.c. with my current parts. Heres some pertinent info Mobo: Maximus Extreme CPU: e8400 RAM : 4x1gb DDR3 OCZ Gold 9-9-9. Any help with voltages, DRAM settings, FBS speeds and any other help with manual cmos/bios settings. Thanks guys.

1.3 vcore, 400FSB, PCIe 100, everything else on auto.

Set your ram manually to its specs.

It should work no problem, if not come back and let us know.

when i set up my ram frequency is it supposed to be at 1334? see my ram stats above. when i set the freq to 1334 i blue screen so i had to set my ram to 1280mhz. Is that because its 1 megahert over 1333? is setting my ram freq at 1280 like downclocking? Did i make a right decision?

Not all ram runs that fast. 1280 is plenty fast. Did you set your ram voltage also?

You probably have to run your ram .1-.3v higher then stock and it might work at 1334.

Did the CPU OC work?

Thanks for your help thus far,

DDR3 Controller REF Voltage -- can be adjusted up and down from -30 to +30 just wondering if adjusting Channel A, B, or Controller REF Voltage might help me get to 1334 ram freq\
AI ClockTwister - Strong? Perhaps that may help?
AI Transaction Boost..... dont really know about that theres a scale of 1 - 8

"You probably have to run your ram .1-.3v higher then stock and it might work at 1334. "  -- Were you reffering to DRAM Voltage?

My main objective now that i got my 3.6 o.c. to work is running my memory at 1334 along side it. Any help would be awesome!

Cool cool. It might need more if it dont coperate well at stock volts.

If it runs fine at 1334 with 2 gigs of ram a voltage bump will fix it for sure. If it dont run 1334 with 2g then it might not run that fast

im running 4 gigs will a voltage bump alone still work?
