My dad let me use his external hard drive to copy some video files to my computer. Just as i plugged it in and selected "copy" i clicked "repair" on my wireless connection. A bubble then popped up saying "delayed write failure" and i went to "my computer" and selected the disk and it says that it's taking up 65GB but i opened it and there are no files. So is the data properly lost or is it recoverable or is it there and i just cant see it? I'm a complete idiot when it comes to computers, and my Dad is going to be very annoyed with me.

Thanks :)

You didn't provide much info, but I'll assume it's a USB external hard drive. Did you copy or move the data from an internal disk or another device to the external disk? If so, disconnect the external disk and reconnect it a few seconds later and check if your data is there. If the copy or move wasn't successful, it should still be on the source device.
