This is my first time build. I am having power issues. The computer
shuts down after running for a while. Everything seems to be fine, fans
are running, drives are spinning. I am now trying to install Vista
Home Premium. When it gets to the last step, Completing Installation,
the power shuts down. Could it be that the CPU is running too hot? In BIO--
Power--Hardware Monitor--, CPU temp reads 73 C. It is possible that my heat
sink is not tight onto the CPU; and I did not use thermal compound because the'
heat sink had the heat spreader material on the bottom.
Specs: Asus P5K-V MoBo, Core2Duo E6750 CPU, Asus P182 Case, Seagate 500GB
Sata HD, Asus Sata DVD-RW.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Definately sounds like your CPU is running too hot. Re-install the heatsink making sure it's properly seated and use a good quality thermal paste.
